Product Review: Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque

This product can be purchased at Wal-Mart for about $10.00. It is marketed as an all-natural intense treatment masque that deeply penetrates to moisturize and repair over-processed, dry, brittle, or damaged hair. I do not have processed hair, but it is dry. The directions say to leave on hair for 5-30 minutes, then thoroughly rinse. I used this product as a pre shampoo treatment. I applied this products to my dry hair and sat under the hooded dryer for approximately 15 minutes. I rinsed and proceeded to the next step in my hair care regimen. I really like this product. It made my hair feel super soft and the tangles melted right out. Detangling was a breeze for me. My only problem with this product is that the smell is very concentrated and I have some wicked allergies. Overall If I have to rate this on a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the highest I would give it an 7. The smell was a contributing factor. If you are a natural girl and is looking for a product that will aid in detangling then this product is a must try.

Product Review Softee Hair Food w/ Vitamin E

This product is the dreaded hair grease. It has all the things that the natural hair gurus shy away from like petrolatum, mineral oil, and lanolin. Well, I am in the hair minority about this product because I like it. I am a natural hair girl that have found some benefits of this product. The direction say use regularly. Apply to hair before styling. I do not use this product in the traditional sense. I do not put this on my scalp. I like to seal my ends with this product. I have really thick hair and sometime the oils just do not do it for me. So I went out and purchased this product for the purpose of sealing my ends. This product is heavy so I have to use it sparingly. I do not use it daily because it would be too much. I like to use it a couple of time a week but no more. Do not be afraid of this product.

~* Update *~

Goodness, I am terrible. I don't have time to keep up with a blog. Anyways, I have been natural for almost a year. I have had a very good run with it and I love my natural hair. I have been watching some of the ladies on youtube and I have gotten a lot of good information. This is what I have learned about natural hair.

1. Natural hair has to be loved and nurtured.
2. Natural hair has to be washed and conditioned regularly.
3. Natural hair does get split ends.
4. Natural hair has to be detangled.
5. Natural hair does grow.
6. Natural hair will thrive when good products are used.
7. Natural hair is not natural hair it is just hair that is not processed.
8. Natural hair is beautiful.
9. Natural hair is for natural sisters.
10. Natural hair is so versatile.

I love being a woman of color because I'm rather unique. I have features that are unique only to me. I think that I am the only person in the world with coarse, spiral curled, and coiled hair. My hair tangles very easily. I love my hair. It is super soft. I should have gone natural sooner.

I have a vblog. I am going to have to step up my game. I am going to publish myself. I am TeaDennis on youtube. Visit me.
